  • At 92, Samuel Bak, one of the last survivors of the Holocaust, still paints every day. A child prodigy, he held his first exhibition in the Vilnius ghetto at the age of nine.

Having become an internationally renowned artist, his works are featured in major collections and are showcased in several museums that bear his name.

His symbolic and metaphorical art is recognized not only for its artistic qualities, but also as a powerful educational tool against racism, intolerance and injustice.

The Bak Project aims to introduce his legacy in places where nearly one in four young people have never heard of the Holocaust, in an effort to fill this void. In Samuel Bak’s work, Art becomes a witness, a guardian of what must never be forgotten.
